Major new commission for the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, presented by the Contemporary Art Society. 

Creating a strong link to the North West, the catalyst was the oil painting “Mr and Mrs William Atherton” by Arthur Devis (1712-1787). Partington expands the domestic scene, creating a thought-provoking, earthenware figure group. The new work is on display with historic ceramics from the Walker's collections, which inspired it.
