Dwynwen is the Welsh patron saint of lovers and is celebrated on January 25th. There are so many versions of the story of Dwynwen with the original tale becoming mixed with elements of folktales and Celtic stories. This version is Partington’s own
imagined Dwynwen with folkloric elements and symbols. The young woman wears armour and jeans and is holding her Great Dane dog via the chain around it’s neck
The figure has an interchangeable head and skull
